Welcome
We, the Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 are a 100% volunteer organization that currently has twenty-nine fully trained firefighters, seven fully trained fire police, and three junior firefighters who are working to achieve firefighter status. These men and women have chosen to dedicate much time and effort to serve and protect Penn Forest Township, its citizens, and visitors.
Penn Forest Township is 76 square miles in size and is the fastest growing and most populated municipality within Carbon County. Fire & Rescue services are provided by our company the Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company #1 as well as our sister station, Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Company #2 which is located on State Route 534 in the Northeastern portion of the Township.
On average we run about 200 calls per year. Calls include everything from structure fires to pumping basements, motor vehicle accidents to automatic alarms. When you dial 911, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we'll be there!
We rely heavily on your donations and various fund raising events to provide these services to the township. There are many members who choose not to fight fires or direct traffic but still wish to volunteer. These members are either "auxiliary" or "support" members. Without them we could not operate. They do everything from working bingo, running the kitchen, auctions, flea markets, ticket sales; renting the hall...you name it.
We have a social hall that seats up to 300 people and is available for rental which is able accommodate all events from weddings and baby showers to birthdays and general meetings. A full kitchen is also available. We are planning a complete remodel of the social hall in the very near future so some dates may be blocked out due to the renovation. Contact us for more information.
We are always looking for new volunteers! It is a great way to serve YOUR community and meet new people. Whether you want to be a firefighter or help in the kitchen, you are always welcome. All training is paid for by the fire company. You’re out of pocket expense is zero! If you are interested give us a call, stop by, or send us an E-mail. We will be glad to speak to you and answer any questions you may have.
